How do I make my fire alarm trouble stop beeping?

Here's a general procedure based on common Napco FireLink panel operation (refer to your specific FireLink model's manual for precise instructions):

1. Access the Keypad:

Unlock the keypad: You'll likely need to enter a user code or master code to access the panel's functions.

2. Silence the Alarm:

Press ACK (Acknowledge): This acknowledges the alarm condition and prepares the system for further actions.

Press SILENCE: This should silence the audible alarm (horns).

3. Observe the Panel:

Silenced Indication: The panel's display or LEDs should indicate that the alarm is silenced.

Strobes: Note that even after silencing the alarm, the strobes might continue to flash until the system is reset, according to Napco Technical Library

How do I reset my fire alarm panel?

To reset a Napco FireLink fire alarm panel, you typically need to enter a valid user code and then press the "Reset" button on the keypad. The default user code for some Napco panels is 10000 or 100001. After pressing reset, the panel will usually beep to confirm it's been reset.

1. Access Authorized Controls:

You may need to enter a user code to access the panel's authorized controls.

If prompted, enter the correct user code.

If you are unsure of the user code, you may need to contact your fire alarm system provider or a qualified technician.

2. Press the Reset Button:

Locate the "Reset" button on the panel's keypad.

Press the Reset button.

The panel will typically beep to confirm the reset has been initiated.

3. Acknowledge Alarm (If Applicable):

If the alarm is triggered by a fire alarm device (like a smoke detector), you may need to acknowledge the alarm by pressing an "Acknowledge" button on the keypad.

This ensures that the system recognizes that the alarm condition has been addressed.

4. Clear Alarm Memory (If Applicable):

If the panel has a flashing zone or memory, you may need to hold down the "Reset" button for a few seconds to clear the alarm memory.

This prevents the alarm from automatically reappearing after the reset.
